SHEEP HERO is a 81-minute, cinematic documentary by Ton van Zantvoort about a traditional shepherd who is forced to innovate in a neoliberal world that conflicts with his idealistic views. Will his struggle pay off or is he forced to go with the flock?

SHEEP HERO premiered on IDFA and ended in the TOP 10 BEST OF IDFA. The film is selected in competition by renowned festivals such as Visions du Réel, Thessaloniki and DOK.Fest and won several awards for best film, best director and best cinematography. It is theatrically released in The Netherlands, Belgium and soon in France.
